About The Nerve

The Nerve incorporates a blend of many styles, giving the ultimate impression of a progessive rock group, without the overblown solos.

Our founder Scot Silver, guitarist and vocals, crafts the songs with originality yet accessibility. Scot's playing encapsulates a mix of Steve Howe, Al Dimeola and Steve Lukather.

Christine Dragon, lead vocalist, brings a smooth, but powerful element to the mix. This lovely lass is quite the frontwoman too. Her vocal prowess evokes Natalie Merchant, Sade and a twist of Annie Lennox.

Eric Schreiber met Scot at university twenty years ago. They have forged a friendship and musical force unhinged. Eric's playing flows from the funky to mind-blowing pizzicato to effortless fretless work. Think Tony Levin meets Chris Squire and your getting warmer.

Dave Coccio brings up the rear with his scorching drum work. Dave is no ordinary drummer, accenting beats 2 and 4. He infuses a personality that brings The Nerve's music to a whole new level. Dave is two parts Terry Bozzio, one part John Bonham, and all parts his own.

Jim Briggs, our second guitarist, lends a helping hand, or two, to our live shows. Jim takes on the daunting task of recreating elements from the CDs that one guitar alone just can't handle. Jim is more than a mere rhythm guitarist. He is the baritone or glue that holds the parts together. A country player at heart, Jim brings versatility to The Nerve soundscape.

We don’t necessarily sound like, but have been compared to these other genre-bending artists: Dave Matthews band, Rennaisance, Spock’s Beard, Sade and Yes. Whether Scot's or Christine's lyrics in a tune, you will find poetry and glimpses into life's events. The Nerve showcase prowess on their respective instruments, wit and humor. Whether simply listening to them on CD or the radio (as a regular feature on Hometown Heroes show on 93.7 WSTW), or live on stage. Come see and hear what all the buzz is about........The Nerve.
